Women can undertake Umrah like men but there are some rules regarding their journey of Umrah. They cannot go for holy pilgrimage and perform Umrah without a Mahram. According to the Islamic rule, a mahram is a male relative tied to a woman through blood, breastfeeding or relations after marriage. A person needs to be above the age of puberty to accompany a woman to Umrah as a Mahram. Also, performing Umrah with a fake Mahram is sinful.
